Summary

It is likely that the initials stand for 'North Williamstown Presbyterian Church'.

Further information

The North Williamstown Presbyterian Church was established in 1886 on the Melbourne Road. The congregation became the St. Stephens Uniting Church in 1977. According to the Church’s website, ‘the original church building is now the church hall and was relocated when a new church was built in 1956’.

The minister of NWPC from 1895 to 1918, Reverend John Caldwell, is named on the quilt at [G14].
