Summary

John Henry Lavery was Station Master Heidelberg, 1893-1895. The local Australian Natives’ Association (ANA) branch knew Lavery as ‘the ablest debater and one of its most energetic members’. He was also a committee member of the Heidelberg Football Club and participated in local Sparrow Matches (shooting). In late 1895 Lavery transferred from Heidelberg to Kilmore.
