August meeting via Zoom - David Sornig 10 August 8.00 p.m.

Posted on Tuesday, 10th August 2021 by Janine Rizzetti

As we are not able to hold our August meeting face-to-face, it will be conducted via Zoom. Our speaker will be David Sornig, whose book Blue Lake: Searching for Dudley Flats and the West Melbourne Swamp won the Judges’ Special Prize at the Victorian Community History Awards in 2019. It is a fascinating exploration of the former Blue Lake and wetland in West Melbourne, later became known as ‘Dudley Flats’, that now hosts quays and high rise buildings.

The meeting will start at 8.00 p.m. but the Zoom link will be activated from 7.45 p.m. so that you have time to make sure that everything is working. If you are a member, you will have received an email telling you how to log on. If we do not have your email address, or if you are a visitor who would like to attend, please email us at heidelberg.historical.society@gmail.com and we will send you the link.
