It's back! the Eaglemont Walk

Posted on Thursday, 28th July 2022 by Janine Rizzetti

The Heidelberg Historical Society will be conducting a walking tour of the Mount Eagle area. In the course of the walk the history of the area, houses and notable residents will be outlined. This will include the Artists of the Heidelberg School, who resided in a cottage in the summers of 1889 and 1890, and the areas later subdivision into residential lots, in which Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin (designers of Canberra) were involved. All this and more will be outlined in the course of the historical walking tour.

We hope you can attend on one of the tour days.

The guided walking tour will be conducted by Steven Barlow, a member of the Heidelberg Historical Society who has researched the history of this famous local area and prepared a booklet, a copy of which is provided to participants.

Sat 6 August at 2 pm

Sunday 7 August at 11 am

Cost $20 per person, payable in cash on the day. Limited numbers. The walk will be around 2 hours duration. Walk commences at corner of The Eyrie and Summit Drive.
