Eye Spy: A Postcard Album

Are you - or have you ever been- a deltiologist? A deltiologist collects and studies postcards, and between 1900 and 1914 Mr and Mrs Maplestone of Ivanhoe compiled their collection of 254 postcards, greeting cards and photographs for display in this handsome Postcard Album. Although postcards were cheap to mail and used for a variety of purposes - advertising, keeping in touch, romancing - the album in which they were kept was not. A new album like this cost about 24 to 36 pence, at a time when a loaf of bread cost about 3 to 4 pence.
