The End is Nigh!
Posted on Friday, 10th May 2024 by Janine Rizzetti
The end is nigh! If you haven’t got round to seeing the ‘Eye Spy’ exhibition at the Old Heidelberg Court House, this Sunday 12 May is your last chance. We are open between 2.00 and 5.00 p.m. Entry $5.00 and free for members and children under 16. Why not bring Mum and your kids to enjoy the diversity of objects and quirky stories on display.
And as for the mice for whom the end is nigh as well? This Hell-Cat brand, all-steel mouse trap was used at Viewbank Farm, Heidelberg.Marketed in the 1950s as ‘mouse traps that set themselves’, they were said to be ‘safe for kiddies to set’. After placing bait on the trap, it only required the end to be pressed down to set.
This is just one of over 180 objects on display as part of the ’Eye Spy exhibition, on show for this last Sunday.
