Transcription

S. E. McLean.

Summary

The person represented on this square is probably Samuel Edgar Mclean (1878-1921), eldest son of Thomas Hicks McLean (c.1843-1918) who was Mayor of Northcote Borough Council from 1895 to 1897. His mother was Margaret Ross McLean, née Morrison (c.1847-1925).

Further information

Edgar, as he was known, was the eldest of six children of Thomas and Margaret. He took over the family property Woodside at Buangor, western Victoria after his father died. He did not marry and left the property to his brother Robert Alexander Caldwell McLean (1881-1954). For details of TH McLean and the McLean family see [B2]. His brother Percy is represented at [A3].
