Summary

It is likely that this square represents Alexander Robert Thomas Donaldson (9 March 1877 - 22 July 1955).

Further information

Alexander was a son of John and Isabella Donaldson of Bellevue, Ivanhoe. He attended Scotch College in East Melbourne from 1890 to 1892.

On Friday 14 February 1896, ‘Mr Alec Donaldson’ was a guest, with his sisters, at an “At Home” hosted in the Northcote Town Hall by the Mayor and Mayoress of the Northcote Borough Council, Cr and Mrs TH McLean [A1]. Other guests at this social event included Rev. Duncan Fraser, Busy Bees Mrs AE Fraser and Mrs McCracken [Central], Mr Littlejohn [K11] and his wife, and Mr and Mrs Mackinnon, [B5] and [A4] respectively. Alexander would have been approaching his 19th birthday at this time.
